Who We Are
April Davis
April is an Education Specialist who serves with the Literacy and Language Department. She happily partners with local education agencies by providing effective training and instructional coaching that supports strengthening the literacy development of students across the Houston Metropolitan area and beyond. You will also find April providing guidance to teachers who are building their knowledge of the science of teaching reading by undergoing the state-mandated Texas Reading Academies course. As a certified Research-Based Instructional Strategies (RBIS) trainer, April shares knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies that set a strong foundation for young learners in the areas of reading and writing. April is excited to now also be a part of the SEED team and positively impact the important work of setting strong foundations for early learners.
April obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Reading at Prairie View Agricultural and Mechanical University and acquired her Master of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in English and Education from Liberty University.
When not at work, April loves listening to music, reading and writing stories for children, and attempting to garden.
